Over the weekend our local Summerland AFL footy league had a representative match against the Tamworth League, played at Ballina. Summerland BraveHearts 8, 13 beat Tamworth 8, 11.

5 Nimbin Demons players were selected for the team. They were: Will Alexander, Chris Frangos, Josh Mapstone, Billy Walker & Zden Novak.

The Summerland Bravehearts had never won a regional match before.

The match was played in very windy conditions, probably compliments of that bad storm they had down south, and scores fluctuated too. Tamworth got off to a good start in the 1st quarter & I feared the worst, but Summerland got a few late goals to stay in the match.

The 2nd quarter was Summerland's best & they surged ahead. But Tamworth came back in the 3rd to close the gap. Which meant it all hinged on the last quarter, due to the wind it was a dour goalless but nevertheless exciting & also frustrating quarter & Summerland hung on for well deserved win by a bare 2 points.
