This was a hard fought physical game, where Casino outmuscled Nimbin in the big man department. Nimbin played into this by kicking the ball high instead of keeping it low. Casino also played the tricky winds at their home ground to perfection. Both teams had promising young players who were among their best players. Best players for Nimbin were: Will Alexander (3 votes), Zen Novak (2), & Billy Walker (1). Goal kickers were: Billy Walker 2, Zen Novak 2, Will Alexander, Roydon Butler, Joe Walker & Frank Summerville each got 1. Injuries were: James Alexander, fractured ankle, out for rest of season, Doug Blackburn, ribs, out for a few weeks. This week’s defeat leaves Nimbin at the bottom of the table. Next week Nimbin is playing at home. (There will not be the advertised football carnival of teams at Oakes Oval in Lismore due to it being double booked.) Nimbin plays Byron. | ||
