Labor Back but Locally, a Nats Clean Sweep
Filed by:  Ian

The biggest news recently has been the state elections. The results in & around Nimbin are interesting.

The Greens did very well, winning the Nimbin polling booth, plus the Greens also won the polling booths of the Channon, Rosebank, Cawongla & Goolmangar.

But overall in our seat of Lismore, sitting National Thomas George got back in with a 3% swing to him.

Statewide, as everyone now knows, the Iemma Labor Government got back in despite a 4% swing against it.

 Keeping Up Appearances

In Cullen Street, the new more ornate facade is going well at the heritage listed Hemp Embassy, & will be ready in time for Mardi-Grass.

The new facade is actually like the old original one. The previous simpler one came about after a storm ruined the original one, & renovations to it were done as cheaply as possible.

NimFM's new website which has been under construction for quite a while is due to be complete this week.

Our new site will be easier to use, be linked to podcasts easier, & look different. The changes will come on in stages thru the week.

Maybe this Friday will be a good time for you to check out our new website at www.nimfm.org & be E-luminated.
